About the United Arab Emirates visa for Indians

Most Indian passport holders need a UAE tourist visa arranged before they fly to Dubai or Abu Dhabi. It is an electronic visa: we submit your passport, photo and travel details, and the approval arrives by email, usually within 3–4 working days. The 30-day visa covers most holidays and family visits; choose a 60-day visa for longer stays, or a multiple-entry visa if you plan a side trip to Oman and back.

There is one important exception. If you hold a valid visa, residence permit or green card from the US, UK, an EU country, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand or Canada, you can get a visa on arrival instead: 14 days for AED 100 (extendable once for another 14 days), or 60 days for AED 250. Your passport must be valid for at least six months. If you're unsure whether your other visa qualifies, send us a photo of it before booking.

UAE visas are refused most often because of a blurred passport scan, a photo that doesn't meet the specification, or a name mismatch between the passport and the ticket. We check all three before submitting. Families from Hyderabad often combine Dubai with Abu Dhabi; one UAE visa covers all seven emirates.

United Arab Emirates visa: frequently asked questions

Can Indians get a visa on arrival in Dubai?

Only if you hold a valid visa, residence permit or green card from the US, UK, an EU country, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand or Canada, and your passport is valid for six months. Everyone else needs a UAE visa before travelling.

How long does a Dubai visa take for Indians?

Usually 3–4 working days once all documents are complete. Apply at least a week before travel, and earlier during school holidays, Diwali and New Year.

Does one UAE visa cover Dubai and Abu Dhabi?

Yes. A UAE visa is valid for all seven emirates, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

Can I extend my UAE tourist visa?

Most tourist visas can be extended from inside the UAE for a fee. The 14-day visa on arrival can be extended once. Tell us before your visa expires so we can check the current rule for your visa type.

What photo is needed for a UAE visa?

A recent colour photo with a plain white background, face clearly visible and no glasses. Most refusals we see are caused by unclear photos or passport scans, so we check them before submitting.
