Complete visa information for Indian passport holders
Indian passport holders require a Schengen visa for short visits to Switzerland unless exempt.
Switzerland isn't in the European Union, but it is in the Schengen area, so Indian travellers need a Schengen short-stay visa for it. The same visa covers neighbouring France, Italy, Germany and Austria, which is why so many Swiss holidays include more than one country. Apply to Switzerland only if you'll spend the most nights there.
Swiss itineraries typically include Zurich, Lucerne, Interlaken and Jungfraujoch, often with Swiss Travel Pass train travel. Show that travel clearly in your day-by-day plan. Hotel prices in Switzerland are high, so make sure your bank statements comfortably cover your stay. The visa fee is EUR 90 for adults, plus the visa centre's service charge, and decisions normally take 15 calendar days.
Book appointments early for May–June and December trips, which are the busiest seasons for Indian families and honeymooners. Your travel insurance must cover at least EUR 30,000 of medical costs and be valid in every Schengen country you visit. On arrival, the EU's Entry/Exit System records your fingerprints and photo at the Schengen border.

Yes. Switzerland is not in the EU but is a Schengen member, so a Schengen visa covers it.
Apply to the country where you'll spend the most nights. If the nights are equal, apply to the country you enter first.
Enough to cover your hotels, travel and daily costs comfortably. Switzerland is expensive, so your bank statements should clearly support your itinerary.
Six to eight weeks before May–June and December trips, when appointments are hardest to find. You can apply up to six months ahead.
