About the Maldives visa for Indians

Indian tourists receive a free 30-day visa on arrival in the Maldives. There is nothing to apply for in advance, but there are conditions: a valid passport (we recommend at least six months' validity), a confirmed return or onward ticket, a confirmed hotel or resort booking, and enough money for your stay.

The one form every traveller must complete is the IMUGA Traveller Declaration on the official Maldives Immigration portal, imuga.immigration.gov.mv. It is free, it must be submitted within 96 hours before your flight (a declaration made earlier is invalid), and every traveller needs their own, including children. Sites that charge a fee for IMUGA are unofficial resellers.

Most visitors from Hyderabad fly to Malé via Bengaluru, Kochi or Colombo, then take a speedboat or seaplane to their resort. Many resorts check your booking before arranging transfers, so keep confirmations on your phone. Honeymoon and family resort trips are the most common Maldives bookings we handle.
